45 going on 90, semi retired and disabled, by both Bipolar and damaged feet. I spend most of
my time writing poetry, helping others write poetry, and assist in running an international poetry forum. I also help
others to understand their bipolar illness when I can, being a member of three BP forums.
Born in Windy Wellington, spent three months there (thank God) then was brought up in Christchurch,
Invercargill, Lumsden, Dunedin, Arthurs Pass, Dannevirke, Taipa, and finally Palmerston North where I completed my schooling
and joined the Navy aged 16.
Spent 27 years in the Navy as a Chart maker (assistant hydrographer) and got to survey all of the
New Zealand Coast, a lot of Pacific Islands, and most of the Sub Antarctic Islands too (brrrrrr). I married in 1986
and had two daughters, and divorced amicably in 2000. My kids still live in Auckland with their mother, but I have moved
to the quieter life in Palmerston North..
Love the outdoors, nature, the sea, the sky, and everything really, as long as it's not too overwhelming.
I hope to leave this earth leaving a small mark, my poetry. This site will help achieve that
ambition, but the greater ambition is to be published and in a library. That day will come.
Smokey, the cat that keeps me honest.
